2015 Writer’s Market Books

YAY! The mailman brought me a box from Barnes & Noble yesterday and I knew exactly what was in it. I smiled, even in the rain, as he struggled to scan my package inside his dry car.

After I made the decision to leave my library position, the board gave me a $100 gift certificate to B & N. I held onto it for just over a year before I ordered anything. And guess what I ordered?

Yes! You Can Learn to Write Beginning Readers and Chapter Books

I’m a bit obsessive when it comes to resource books on writing. My shelves are full of them. I love, love, love reading suggestions/advice and polishing my skills! I hate to admit it, but some of those books have never been read. However, the Market books have, along with most of the books with advice on writing for children. Once in a while I need a little inspiration, so I’ll go to my shelves and pull off a book and it’s like BAM! Something sparks and I’m writing again.

I also have tons of children’s magazines–mostly Babybug, Ladybug, Cricket, and Highlights, along with a few others. I recently subscribed to Humpty Dumpty and Jack and Jill. So… I am surrounded by inspiration!

My books and magazines give me a peace… fill an empty spot… give me hope.

And now I have no excuse for the lack of where to send my manuscripts!

     Happy writing, everyone!
